Director Vikram Kumar’s sci-fi thriller 24 with Chiyaan Vikram as the hero has been shelved for the time being by its producer Mohan Natarajan!

Mohan Natarajan has roped in Bhoopathy Pandian to direct a new film with the same dates of actor Vikram. Pandian has worked out an action film laced with comedy for the star. Vikram, after Saamy will once again play a cop in the film.

Ileana who had originally given dates for 24 will continue as the heroine as her dates from March 15 has been blocked by the producer. She has been paid a bomb to do the film. Devi Sri Prasad will provide music for the film which will be shot by cameraman Vaithy.

Mohan Natarajan has unceremoniously dumped Vikram Kumar, who according to sources close to the producer was not having a proper script for the film! He also shot the film for a week, and it proved to be very expensive.

So Natarajan who had signed the star Vikram nine years back, wanted to change his director and go for a more mass director. Boopathy Pandian was ready with a mass masala script, and has promised to complete the film within 90 days!

The shoot of the untitled film will start in Chennai from March 5, and it will be a “start to finish film”, that will be scheduled to release around August 15.
